Nick has built up a world wide reputation for his work and has taught and demonstrated in such far flung places as Australia, South Africa, Canada, Norway, Ireland, Spain, America, Germany, France and Belgium. His large-scale, multi-textured turned wood sculptures, created at his riverside studio in Devon, have earned him a reputation for producting highly individual, beautifully crafted art.

With more than 23 years experience he has a great understanding of his medium. Choosing burrs and intriguing wind blown or dead timber for the majority of his work - exposing natures beneath the bark.
Inspired by organic forms, pottery, and his natural surroundings, he specialises in hollow forms, large diameter work and surface enhancement. He is renowned for his wall sculptures in particular. His award-winning work often incorporates carving, weaving and metalwork.

In addition to exhibiting widely and appearing at international conferences both as a demonstrator and a judge, Nick is in constant demand for commissions from collectors and galleries; his wide range of clients include HRH Price of Wales and the royal jewellers, Aspreys. Specialising in hollow forms and more decorative work, in particular his renowned wall sculptures, he and his work have been featured in television programmes by the BBC and ITV.
