A local craftsman with a passion for creativity and a skill for communicating that passion to others, Ian's work involves careful and thoughtful consideration of his subject before using wood or clay to produce his exquisite works of art.

Ian honed his skills and appreciation for carving and sculpture whilst completing a five-year apprenticeship with G&H studios, where he specialised in early 16th to late 18th century ornamental woodcarving.

A knowledgeable and experienced woodcarver and sculptor, although Ian currently sells his work all over the world and through some of the top galleries in the country, he also enjoys sharing his passion for woodcarving through teaching and writing, to introduce and encourage others in the craft of woodcarving.
During Ian's courses, he will discuss designs and techniques before you start on your own projects.
