terms and conditions

These Terms and Conditions should be read in conjunction with our standard Terms and Conditions published in the Company’s main catalogue and on the Company’s website. Should there be any conflict between these terms and those published then these terms will prevail.

Definitions

Within these terms and conditions the following definitions will apply:

"Company" will refer to Axminster Power Tool Centre Ltd (company number 3326979 registered at Unit 10 Weycroft Avenue Axminster EX13 5PH) and any marketing name associated with it. "Customer" will refer to the person attending the course whether or not they have paid for the course. "Tutor" will refer to the specific trainer or instructor for the course.

Course Fees

Course fees generally include the cost of a light lunch (supplied by the Company in the course room), tea and coffee and those materials essential to complete course projects. However, the Company maintains the right to alter these inclusions for specific courses and details will be supplied when booking.

Cancellation

The Company maintains the right to cancel or integrate courses if insufficient student numbers have booked or a tutor is unavailable or for any other specified reason.

If the customer cancels their place on a course within 48 hours of the course start time the Company reserves the right, at their discretion, to retain the course fee. Should the cancellation occur prior to this the Company will place the Customer on an alternative suitable course at a time convenient to the customer or, alternatively, issue the Customer with a gift card of an equivalent value.

Parking

Plenty of parking is available nearby, however the Company does not accept responsibility for any vehicles parked on any Company property. Alternative public parking is available within the local area but this remains the Customer's responsibility and risk.

Disability and Dietary needs

The Customer must advise, at the time of booking, of any disability or special dietary considerations. Wheelchair access is provided to the course room. Customers will be notified prior to booking if any special needs cannot be provided.

Overnight accommodation

The Company cannot be held responsible for any accommodation that has been booked by the Customer whether or not the Company or any of its employees have provided names and addresses of that accommodation.

Personal belongings

We are unable to store Customer's personal belongings securely. Customers are fully responsible for their own personal belongings at all times.

Photography

From time to time we will photographically record the activities in our Skill Centre and this includes some of the courses, consequently you may be photographed during your time with us. Should this occur we do reserve the right to use this photography in our marketing material, whether specifically for the Skill Centre or generally in our catalogue or website.

Health and Safety

All Customers will be provided with the Company's Health and Safety Policy and agree to abide by that policy whilst visiting any Company premises.

All necessary health and safety equipment relative to the course will be provided for Customers to use during the course. All Customers will be provided with a copy of the course risk assessment document. The Company has public liability insurance as required under current legislation.

Security

We use industry leading secure server technology that implements Secure Socket Layering (SSL) to protect your details and assist your shopping experience. SSL is the industry standard for encryption and enables millions of secure online transactions every day.

None of our customers has reported fraudulent use of a credit or debit card as a result of purchases made with us. We are so confident about the transaction security we offer on our site that we back every purchase with a security guarantee.

Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to process orders and to provide a more personalised experience.

When you purchase, we need to know your name, e-mail address, and billing address. We also need your telephone number that enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order.

We personalise your shopping experience by using your purchases to shape our recommendations to future customers. We also monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us modify our site and add new features.

Cookies - During your use of our website, our server will write small files to your browser. These are called cookies. This allows us to track which pages of our website you visit and enables key parts of the shopping functionality. You may turn cookies off in your browser without affecting your user experience.

Data Protection Act

We will validate name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the order process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting our terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will be unaffected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
