introduction
This course is designed to cover many aspects of woodturning
and introduces you to turning tools, equipment and accessories, including grinding
equipment and tool sharpening.
Students will be allocated their own lathe and tools for the duration of the
course to produce a number of test pieces and projects that may be kept for future
reference.
what you
will learn
Techniques demonstrated include between centre work, beads, coves, fillets, and
faceplate turning as well as the use of screw chucks and 4 jaw self-centering
chucks.
The course emphasis is on practical turning with a high degree of hands-on tuition.

All materials for set projects are included in the cost, as is tea/coffee and
a light lunch on both days. Please check the course calendar for availability.
Skill Centre students under 18 are welcome to attend this course but must be
accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended
during
class
hours.
