This is a one day intermediate course, allowing you not only to develop your bowl making skills, but has the added bonus of showing you how to turn delicate thin walled bowls. The aim, with step by step guidance, is to be able with confidence to turn artistic thin bowls with a wall thickness of 2-3mm. We will show you how to develop this allowing you to further these skills in your own workshop.

what you will learn
  • How to select, prepare and mount materials that are suitable for the project
  • Use of the lathe and speeds which allow for safe cutting of the materials
  • Methods of fixing and holding of workpiece from face plate to chuck

  • How to sand and polish the completed bowl
All of these techniques are aimed at producing a bowl with artistic and visual impact.
