Leigh jigs with David Whiteside

introduction

This course is taken by David Whiteside - our guest tutor from BriMarc. The course is intended to provide an introduction to the original Leigh and Leigh D1600 router dovetail jigs and is specifically aimed at new and recent customers buying these machines from Axminster Power Tool Centre - you will also receive a £20 discount on the course price. However the course will be open to existing Leigh owners who may require basic instruction in using these machines. As the course will start with the initial setting up of the machines, students will be able to set up and work on their own new machines during the course. Existing owners will need to bring their own machines and routers with them.

what you will learn
The course will include basic instruction on Health and Safety issues, setting up, cutter machine care and maintenance, using jigs and accessories (as shown in the Leigh handbook). The initial introduction will include an overview of the two jigs and of current routers, suitable for use with them. During the course the tutor will explain the use of the optional accessories and templates available for the Leigh jigs.
