Leigh jigs with Jason Breach

introduction

This course is intended to provide an introduction to the original Leigh D4, D4R and the Leigh Super Jigs. The cost of the one day course is £95, however, customers who have recently purchased any of these models from Axminster Tool Centre or who purchase one on the day of the course will receive a £25 discount. The course will also be open to existing Leigh jig owners who may require basic instruction in setting up and using these machines. As the course will start with the initial setting up of the machines, students will be able to set up and work on their own new jig during the course. Existing owners will need to bring their own jigs and routers with them.

what you will learn
The course will include basic instruction on Health and Safety issues, setting up, cutter machine care and maintenance, using jigs and accessories (as shown in the Leigh handbook). The initial introduction will include an overview of the different jigs and of current routers, suitable for use with them. Topics covered will include Through Dovetails, Half Blind Dovetails, End to End Dovetails and Sliding Dovetails. During the course the tutor will explain the use of the optional accessories and templates available for the Leigh jigs.
