This course is ideal for absolute beginners or those who have had some limited woodcarving experience. Here is a great opportunity to learn and practice all aspects of this absorbing and creative craft. In a relaxed and supportive environment you will be guided by experienced carver, teacher and author Peter Berry through at least one complete project; often two projects can be tackled! You will work on planning, preparation, cutting out, carving, and presentation and finishing using subjects of you own choice or supplied by the tutor.

5 students are taught in a group during this course.

You will learn everything you need to enable you to embark on and progress in this fascinating and rewarding craft. Demonstrations of sharpening will be given along with advice on suitable woods, starter tools and tools for progression, alternative tools such as knives and power carvers along with opportunities for 'hands on' experience. Free exchange of information ideas and questions is very much encouraged to ensure that the course provides a worthwhile and enjoyable learning experience for everyone.
