The Spindle Moulder is a very adaptable and versatile piece of equipment and our new one-day demonstration course will show you how to set it up correctly, use it safely and give general tips and advice on how to get the best results from this excellent machine.
The course is aimed at those people who own or use a spindle moulder and need advice on best practice or for those people thinking of purchasing a spindle moulder.
5 students are taught in a group during this course.
The course will cover:
- Basic instruction on Health and Safety
- Setting up the machine correctly
- Advice on the various types of tooling and how to fit and use them
- Tool sharpening and the correct way to look after and store tooling
- Set up of fences and guards; positioning of tooling and fences to give the required cut
- Positioning of guards, feather boards and push sticks for maximum safety
- Moulding and rebating
- Tenoning and end grain work
- The use and benefits of a sliding carriage
- The tutor will also demonstrate how to make a cabinet door and a section of window frame

Course hours will run from 9am-5pm (including approximately half an hour for lunch).
All materials for set projects are included in the cost, as is tea/coffee and a light lunch on the day. Please check the course calendar for availability. Course hours will run from 9am - 5pm.
There is no upper age limit for students, however the minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours.
