A two day intermediate course developing your bowl making skills. During the course you will learn to turn delicate thin walled bowls that allow you to incorporate your own artistic flair. Our step by step guidance will enable you to turn a bowl with a 2-3mm wall with confidence and provide the basis for you to develop these skills at home (in your own workshop).
5 students are taught in a group during this course.
How to select, prepare and mount the materials, methods of fixing and holding of work piece from face plate to chuck, sharpening, sanding and polishing the finished article.
This is a 'hands on' course, each student being able to work at their own pace. The course will be led by the tutor who will both demonstrate and explain the techniques to the group as a whole and individuals as required.
All materials for set projects are included in the cost, as is tea/coffee and a light lunch on both days. Please check the course calendar for availability. Course hours will run from 9am - 5pm.
There is no upper age limit for students, however the minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours.
