Reintroducing our popular Bowls and Platters course to give woodturners a chance to increase their knowledge of turning and design. This course is two days in duration to allow time to build on turning techniques with a focus on bowls and platters.
As with all of our courses, they involve 'hands-on' learning so that you gain as much as possible from your time spent with us and take home examples of the projects you have covered.
5 students are taught in a group during this course.
During the course you will cover design, wood selection, tool techniques such as cover end grain shear scraping and platter rim decoration and finishing, while gaining a wealth of ideas and knowledge from our experienced tutor.
This following course events are available at the Axminster Skill Centre in Devon:
Course hours will run from 9am-5pm (including approximately half an hour for lunch).
All materials for set projects are included in the cost, as is tea/coffee and a light lunch on both days. Please check the course calendar for availability. Course hours will run from 9am - 5pm.
There is no upper age limit for students, however the minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours.
